Programming languages and Integrated Development Environments
2 subtopics
The last topic in Paper 2, and mostly about the tools rather than the code. You need the characteristics and purpose of high level and low level languages, why most programs are written in a high level language, and the difference between a compiler and an interpreter.
The IDE half covers the tools a development environment gives you: an editor, error diagnostics, a run-time environment and translators, and what each one helps you do.
These are short, well defined questions. Learning the purpose of each tool in one clear sentence is usually enough.
